About Josiah Publishing ...Empowering You in Your Faith
Josiah Rules!

We have changed some over the years. Yes, we still have a heart for children's ministry. But the content of our pages this year revolve around personal problem-solving.

The last decade has brought a wealth of Christian books, videos and curricula. Kids can access wonderful interactive christian web sites. This site was intended originally as a drop-off site for materials that leaders could photocopy.

What you will find now is a workbook, some investigative articles on controversial topics, and a few links. Why the change? We are finding people inundated with speakers' ideas, with little opportunity to express themselves. The workbook is just one small way that people can safely explore their thoughts and sort out truths they have heard.

It's a busy time. People are working overtime, or two jobs, or distressing over a job search. They are driving their children to soccer and trumpet lessons. They don't have much time to spend on deeper life issues. When they do, it's often controlled by someone doing it for a living.

Sermons are written by people who are in charge of a congregation. They are written to contain and organize what might feel unweildy at times. This is not a bad thing, but we find it can put a bias on theology. For example, think of the submission theories of the 1970's, which are resurging now in our churches as well as in our national life.

Many of the Christian books are also written by pastors, as the publishers need to establish the author's credibility. Again, this is not a bad thing. It is just a limitation. What we offer is straightforward observation, research, application.

When you read our pages and filling in printed workbook answers, you have no obligation to us. We do not see what you write. We do not collect information for a database. We will not excommunicate you if you say the wrong thing. We will not bar you from participation in your church. We offer a safe zone, a second opinion.

We know that changing the nature of a web site is taboo in web culture, but that is what we have done. And we might do it again.
