Truth

What are your thoughts?

yes--no We need to sort out facts and theories to protect ourselves.

yes--no I try to believe most of what I hear from my "truth source" literature.

yes--no I generally believe these faith truths to be accurate.

yes--no I tend to stick to my beliefs more than the average person does.

yes--no I keep myself in charge of what I believe.

yes--no I don't spend time scrutinizing.

yes--no I love debating issues.

yes--no I get a thrill out of challenging the status quo.

yes--no I like cozy discussions with others about spiritual concepts.

yes--no I sometimes need to convince other people why I believe what I do.

yes--no Some rules work like the law of gravity; if you work with them, they'll work for you.

yes--no It's my responsibility to make truths known.

yes--no It's up to me to edify the people in my life, even if we don't agree.

yes--no I get a rush when I can help people understand new information.

yes--no I wish that more people believed what I believe.

yes--no I'm very private about my beliefs.

yes--no I prefer it when people don't bring up religion.

yes--no I prefer that people don't challenge my level of faith.

yes--no Life would be easier if people understood me.

yes--no I'm grateful for so many beliefs because I like to be different.

yes--no I learn from so many outlooks; I don't think anyone can know everything.

yes--no I have found some great concepts and want to share them.

yes--no My opinions conflict sometimes with what I think I ought to believe.

yes--no I like certain aspects of other religions but I will never agree with certain parts.

yes--no There are so many different beliefs in the world, I can't accept that there's only one answer.

yes--no I don't understand how some people can rationalize their off-the-wall practices and theologies.

yes--no I trust that when I submit to the precepts of my religion or to my God, the rest falls into place.

yes--no The truths of my faith bring life.

What does the Bible say about truth?

Spoken words can be like deep water, but wisdom is like a flowing stream.

Proverbs 18:4 NCV

The whole law is made complete in this one command: "Love your neighbor as you love yourself."

Galatians 5:14 NCV

The Law of Yahweh is perfect, refreshment to the soul;
the decree of Yahweh is trustworthy, wisdom for the simple.
The precepts of Yahweh are honest, joy for the heart;
the commandment of Yahweh is pure, light for the eyes,
The fear of Yahew is pure, lasting forever;
the judgments of Yahweh are true, upright, every one,
More desirable than gold, even the finest gold;
his words are sweeter than honey, that drips from the comb.

Psalm 19:7-10 JB

This new agreement will not be like the old one I gave to their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; they did not keep their part of the agreement, so I had to cancel it.

But this is the new agreement I will make with the people of Israel, says the Lord: I will write my laws in their minds so that they will know what I want them to do without my even telling them, and these laws will be in their hearts so that they will want to obey them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

And no one will need to speak to his friend or neighbor or brother, saying, 'You, too, should know the Lord,' because everyone, great and small, will know me already. And I will be merciful to them in their wrongdoings, and I will remember their sins no more.

Hebrews 8:9-12 (also in 10:15) LB

But you delight in sincerity of heart, and in secret you teach me wisdom.

Psalm 51:6 JB

A human heart makes the plans, Yahweh gives the answer....Let Yahweh be pleased with someone's way of life and he makes that person's very enemies into friends...The human heart may plan a course, but it is Yahweh who makes the steps secure.... Upright lips are welcome to a king, he loves someone of honest words.

Prov.16:1, 7, 9, 13 JB

Buy truth, and do not sell it; buy wisdom, instruction, and understanding.

Prov. 23:23 NIV

I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.

Psalm 16:7 NIV

But the Spirit produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. There is no law that says these things are wrong.

Galatians 5:22-23 NCV

Guilt

In connection to my beliefs, I feel guilty often…

yes--no about life in general.

yes--no about religious issues.

yes--no about day-to-day issues.

yes--no I feel less guilty than I would on my own.

yes--no I believe in freedom from guilt.

yes--no I feel freedom from guilt.

yes--no I believe in forgiveness for offenses.

yes--no I believe in forgiveness for stupid things I do.

yes--no I feel forgiveness for stupid things I do.

yes--no Is there something you can do to feel more absolved?

How do others see you?

How do you view others?

How are you viewed in the eyes of your God?

What does the Bible say about guilt?

And to one who does not work but trusts him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness.

Romans 4:5 RSV

So if you still claim that God's blessings go to those who are "good enough," then you are saying that God's promises to those who have faith are meaningless, and faith is foolish.... So God's blessings are given to us by faith, as a free gift; we are certain to get them whether or not we follow Jewish customs if we have faith like Abraham's...God will accept all people in every nation who trust God as Abraham did.

But Abraham never doubted. He believed God, for his faith and trust grew even stronger, and he praised God for this blessing even before it happened. He was completely sure that God was well able to do anything he promised. And because of Abraham's faith God forgave his sins and declared him "not guilty."

Romans 4:14, 16-17 LB
