If you haven't touched religion for your whole life, you still have opinions about it. You have felt things after hearing comments on television, in class discussions, at family dinners, over coffee with friends. You have known people who gave their lives to a cause. Others you know have total disdain for religion. What is faith, this concept that becomes both a personal center of rest and a hotbed of imposed opinions and pain? Religion is too personal, too cultural, too consuming for me to place my personal slant on this workbook. Okay, maybe I did. I've added Bible verses for you to reflect on and optional prayers, but the rest is objective. This online workbook is for the atheist who feels good about the choice, the admirer of the liturgical, the exuberant worshipper, the quiet faithful, the person who wonders if they've gotten themselves into a cult. It's for all of you. Think of this as your chance to look at what you believe and who you are connected to. Maybe the system you're operating in needs some tweaks. Maybe you've followed a path that conflicts with some of your personal thoughts on life. It could be just time to sit back and bask in how good you have it. It's not my job to say what that is. It's yours. This is your workbook. So print out the pages, write on them, cross out things I've said, burn pages if you need to. Here's to a clear head! |
